The Castle of Saint Servando

The Castle of Saint Servando is a medieval castle and one of the most representative works of mudejar military architecture in Spain. It was a monastery, occupied first by monks and later by the Knights Templar.

In 1874 the castle was named a national monument. The fortress was depicted in El Greco's painting View of Toledo.

It is currently used as a youth hostel.

The Infantry Academy

The Infantry Academy is a military training center of the Spanish Army. The building, constructed in 1948-1949 in Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Herrerian style, harmonizes well with the Alcázar, located on the opposite side of the River Tagus.
